OLLI receives $1 million endowment to enhance lifelong learning program

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Florida State University has been recognized for its excellence with a $1 million endowment from the Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco. The highly competitive award, attained only by the elite institutions of the 119 OLLIs throughout the country, required meeting stringent criteria, including membership of more than 1,000, curriculum, leadership, staff excellence, sustainability and volunteerism. FSU earns runner-up finish at inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship

Florida State came up just short in its quest for the program’s first national title falling to USC, 3-0, in the inaugural NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship final Sunday, May 8, in Gulf Shores Beach, Ala. The Seminoles finished the 2016 campaign with a school-record 32 wins while claiming its first CCSA Conference Championship in beach volleyball's first official season as an NCAA Championship sport. “It’s been great for us; it’s been great for the school,” FSU head coach Brooke Niles said on her team’s run to the national finals.
